BAL- 40 fire shutters
Many areas throughout Australia are prone to bushfires during the warmer summer months. New homes are often required to have bushfire compliant windows and doors, along with, BAL-40 fire shutters to keep your property safe.
BAL-40 refers to potential bushfire attack levels, which are used to rate the fire danger of buildings. These levels are: BAL – LOW, BAL-12.5, BAL 19, BAL 29, BAL 40 and Flame Zone.
Bushfire Roller Shutters only supply BAL-40 fire shutters that are compliant with Australian standards, AS 3959-2009 1530 8.1. Our products do not contain any flammable materials, such as foam, and are manufactured with radiant heat defensive properties to ensure the highest grade of protection. The double wall extruded aluminium that BAL-40 fire shutters are manufactured with makes them extremely resistant to fire. When our fire shutters are coupled with BAL-40 windows, they can even be used to protect homes in Flame Zone conditions.
To comply with Australian regulations fire rated shutters need to be operated manually. At Bushfire Roller Shutters we supply both manual and electric BAL-40 fire shutters, with all of our electric models featuring a manual override motor, to allow you to operate them even in case of a power outage.
